‘the WINES OF CALIFORNIA’ RELEASE PARTY WITH ELAINE CHUKAN BROWN

Monday, April 13th | 5PM - 9PM

Join us for a special evening with renowned author, advocate, and wine educator Elaine Chukan Brown as we celebrate the release of her latest book, The Wines of California.

This in-depth exploration of California wine traces its winding legacy with curiosity and intention, from indigenous peoples’ and early immigrants’ roles in stewarding the area’s nascent wine culture to the dynamic and nuanced industry we know today.

We’ll be pouring special selections inspired by the book—by the taste, glass, and bottle—highlighting the regions and producers that have shaped California’s rich winemaking landscape. Elaine will be onsite to toast the launch, share some of her many insights, and revel in the stories that California wines have to tell. Signed copies of the book will also be available for purchase.

Come raise a glass to Elaine with us!

HIDDEN VALLEY

For the month of January, we’re excited to bring back the second iteration of our Hidden Valley dinner menu, an homage to the Chinese-American classics we love, inspired by the history of Chinese communities in the Bay Area and Sonoma. These communities have played an integral role in shaping the region’s history, despite being displaced over time due to discriminatory policies.

With the support of local friends and community of Chinese ancestry, we’re honored to collaborate on this exploration as a way to celebrate and pay respect to this rich and exemplary cuisine. We hope you’ll join us for dinner, enjoy the menu, and engage with us in exploring the stories and contributions of Chinese communities in Sonoma and beyond.

This limited offering ends Monday, February 3rd. Reservations available below—we look forward to seeing you!

Veracruzana Día de los Muertos Celebration

Veracruzana Día de los Muertos Celebration

Thursday, October 31st — Monday, November 4th

True autumn brings a change in light and tone to both the garden and the mind. As the bright intensity of summer crops leaves us, we find ourselves earthbound and in need of soulful nourishment, bereft of the juicy distraction of abundance.

It is a fitting time for Día de los Muertos, the festive remembrance of those who have left us, in which we beckon spirits home with an offering of their favorite foods, as sustenance for their journey in the afterlife, and in ritual for our own aching hearts.

Cristina and Rodrigo Herrera Jimenez are sister-brother cooks in the Valley kitchen who hail from Veracruz, a Mexican state on the Gulf with a rich port history and a coastal cuisine to match. Indigenous, Afro-Caribbean and Spanish foodways have all contributed to Veracruz’ culinary identity, which is marked by tropical ingredients, agricultural diversity and artful simplicity.

Cristina and Rodrigo will be steering a dinnertime Veracruzana menu takeover for the week of Día de los Muertos—Thursday, October 31st through Monday, November 4th. The menu will be a lá carte, and filled with the emotive flavors of this contemplative season. Book below through Tock.

Additionally, our annual ofrenda will be up for the occasion. Feel free to contribute pictures of your own loved ones, or snacks for them to enjoy, when you come to the restaurant.

Camilla Marcus X VALLEY TAKEOVER

Sunday, October 27th from 5-9pm

On Sunday, October 27th we will be hosting Camilla Marcus for the release of her cookbook, My Regenerative Kitchen.

Camilla began her career alongside our own Lauren Feldman in New York City, at the tiny West Village restaurant dell’Anima. She then went on an ambitious journey in hospitality with an impossibly impressive CV that we won’t pretend to fully recount here—that’s what the book is for!—but includes an arduous stint with Union Square Hospitality, the opening of her own West Village restaurant, west~bourne, and a return to her native Los Angeles where her products and regenerative culinary mission are in full focus.

Camilla is a connector of humans and ideas, someone who inspires creativity and change in a field that has in many aspects lost its way. We are excited to bring her to Valley for a conspiratorial night of flavors, ideas and conversations and we welcome friends old and new to join us!

Expect an a lá carte menu with collaborative dishes inspired by My Regenerative Kitchen. Cookbooks available onsite!
